Virgin coconut oil is extracted from coconut milk. Gramiyaa’s cold pressed coconut oil uses sun-dried copras. It retains the coconut meat too, and has the same nutritional benefits and flavour as compared to an extra virgin coconut oil made with other mass manufactured machines.

When cold-pressed coconut oil freezes due to its low freezing point in colder temperatures, you can: - Place the Gramiyaa oil carton in sunlight or near your stove for a few minutes. The gentle warmth will help melt the oil, making it easier to pour. - Alternatively, you can place the carton on top of a hot vessel. The heat from the vessel will gradually melt the frozen coconut oil.

At Gramiyaa, we make fresh batches of cold pressed oils every month. Our cold-pressed coconut oil is extracted using sulphur-free copras. This choice results in a shelf life of 6 months.

It's worth noting that some other producers may opt for sulphur copras to extend the shelf life slightly longer. However, we prioritise the use of sulphur-free copras to deliver authentic, unadulterated cold-pressed coconut oil.

Cold pressed coconut oil adds a hint of coconutty sweetness to balance the spicy, bold flavours of sambar, curry, stew and other dishes. It is best suited for tempering and seasoning.
